There is just something special about Homemade hummus. It is often more creamy, fluffy and flavourful than store bought. But best of all, it is super easy to make. All you need is a few ingredients and a food processor.
INGREDIENTS
1 can of chickpeas or 250 grams cooked chickpeas
Fresh lemon juice from 1 large lemon
1-2 tbsp of Tahini
1 clove of garlic, minced
Olive oil
Cumin, paprika powder and coriander (dried)
Salt and pepper
a little water
INSTRUCTIONS
Add tahini and, lemon juice to your food processor and process it for 30 sek – 1 min. This step will make the hummus extra smooth and creamy.
Add the olive oil, minced garlic, your spices and a little salt to the whipped tahini and lemon juice. Process for about 30 seconds or until well blended. Add half of your chickpeas to the food processor and process for another 30 sek-1 min. Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl, then add remaining chickpeas and process until thick and smooth
The hummus will probably be a bit too thick or still have tiny bits of chickpea in it. To fix this, with the food processor turned on, add a little water and olive oil until you reach the perfect consistency.
Taste and add salt & pepper. Serve hummus with a drizzle of olive oil and dash of paprika.
